Repainting Your Room
Re-painting a room is probably the easiest way to add a dramatic change to your room. A fresh coat of paint can make a room look more dramatic, cheerful or relaxing depending on the color you choose. Luckily, painting a room can also be very simple!
1. Gather your paint removal tools. It’s important to remove the old paint from walls because it allows your new color to show richer and look smoother. Not all products will work for the same jobs; If you are working on a vertical surface or a ceiling, the stripper should be a paste or a very thick gel so that it won’t drip.
2. Push all your furniture towards the center of your room. Then spread out plastic trash bags along the edges of where you will be painting. If you want to be extra cautious, you can cover your furniture too.
3. Using painter’s tape, tape along the edges where you don’t want the paint to touch.
4. Paint in thin layers so you don’t run the risk of a blotchy paint job. Let it fully dry before you push your furniture back.
Painting one wall can add as much of a difference as painting all four walls except there is a lot less work. With one wall, you could be more daring with the color as it won’t be completely taking over the look of the room.
